a breath of fresh air
From Who's Afraid of Hieronymous Bosch?

Love is the appreciation of beauty
Supplemented by the acceptance of imperfection
And a willingness to communicate
Despite the apparent ease of confrontation.
As knowledge is everything
So knowledge of each other's differences,
And the overriding need to be oneself
Forms the essence of any fortuitous bond:
Love and understanding are one and the same.

Contrary to popular belief
True love is entirely deniable;
It doesn't always win in the end,
Nor does it provide the ability
To overcome every obstacle,
Yet, equally, it necessitates no pain
And requires no epic adversary
To bring it to fruition.
It is wholly independent of these things
Perfect in itself
And begging of complete surrender,
As are all the virtues of irrationality.

It brings no guarantees
No promise of immortality
- Its own or that of others -
And requires only agent and object
In order to exist.
Without these it is nothing
