'A' IS FOR ANOREXIA
previous next

Sarah is a thirty two year old English Lit graduate who's given up the 9 to 5 to direct porn films according to her own pseudo-feminist agenda. 'A' is for Anorexia is her diary, a vengeful autobiography intended for Michael, Sarah's ex-boyfriend - now a celebrity novelist with the celebrity wife he's always dreamed of.

Michael's success is due largely to the realistic content of his novels, much of which is based on his dysfunctional relationship with Sarah. Understandably, Sarah resents this. She resolves to stand up for herself before the hateful eyes of Michael's readership. It's in the process of doing so that she stumbles across a secret that will thrill his fans as surely as it will destroy his personal life.

But Michael's isn't the only life she comes close to destroying. There's another book in Sarah's life: Christie's Compact Reference - a guide to mental disorders. A couple of successful diagnoses is all it takes for her interest to verge on obsession.

'A' is for Anorexia is a series of tightening psychological spirals - a vicious constriction of vengeance, deceit and despair.
